The director of the popular anime (Your Name, Weathering with You) revealed the premiere of his heroin and the release date of his newest anime movie in 3 years. Suzume no Tojimari (Suzume's Door-Locking) will be released on November 11, 2022.
"We have to think about how to close the many doors we leave open," said Shinkai as he continued working on the film. "I have passed that responsibility on to Suzume as she traveled across Japan with various doors closed. It is my sincere hope that this film will make its audience smile broadly and excitedly as they walk out of the theater."
Shinkai describes Suzume no Tojimari as a modern adventure story, action film, and street film. The story follows Suzume, a 17 year old girl from the quiet town of Kyūsh who meets a young man looking for a door.
They found a door in the ruins on the mountain, and Suzume opened it. Soon, more doors began to open around Japan, bringing disaster from the other side. The film depicts Suzume's liberation and growth, as she closes the door leading to disaster.
