Honkai Star Rail Phainon materials, kit, and Eidolons

Phainon is set to debut as a powerful 5‑Star Physical Destruction character in Honkai: Star Rail version 3.4 on July 2, 2025 (Asia/EU); NA release is July 1 NA time .

🎭 Who is Phainon?

  • A member of the Chrysos Heirs, hailing from the now‑ruined village Aedes Elysiae.

  • Known as the Nameless Hero, The Deliverer, and among close allies, Snowy. “Phainon” likely isn’t his given name.

  • Visually, he's seen as an “expy” of Kevin Kaslana from Honkai Impact 3rd—same white hair, wings, and more—including sharing voice actors.

⚔️ Role & Combat Kit

  • Path: Destruction • Element: Physical • Rarity: 5★

  • Coreflame mechanic: Accumulates “points” from taking hits or buffs to trigger his Ultimate (12 points).

  • Ultimate – “He Who Bears the World Must Burn”:

  • Enters a transformed state, deploying a Territory in which he fights solo for 8 extra turns—allies are “departed” and enemies become Physical‑weak

  • Gains ATK↑ 80%, Max HP↑ 240%, CC immunity, self‑heal each turn, and powerful counter/damage AoE skills.

  • Ends with a massive AoE “Final Hit,” then returns his team with a +15% SPD buff to allies.

🔧 Builds & Materials

  • Ascension materials:

    • Darkveil Moonlight (from Gelidmoon boss) ×65

    • Ethereal Omen, Echoing Wail, Eternal Lament from Black Tide mobs.

  • Trace materials: include Daythunder Anamnesis, calyx monster drops, and premium items like Tracks of Destiny via events.

  • He functions as a hyper‑carry DPS, and his kit demands strong support to stack Coreflame before his Ultimate.

🧠 Lore & Personality

  • He played a pivotal role in Amphoreus' story, saving Okhema from Titan menace and undergoing the Coreflame Trial—his fate now uncertain post-trial.

  • Complex character: Beneath his polished façade lies a deadly intensity—some fans note “his smiling, nice guy personality is just a thin veneer… tone becomes far more aggressive and vicious” during combat

  • Speculations abound: some believe the Flame Reaver could be a corrupted version of Phainon’s future self .

🤔 Is he Worth Pulling?

Pros:

  • Top-tier physical DPS with a unique self-reliant transformation mechanic.

  • Designed as a hyper-carry, meaning he can output immense damage if properly supported.

Cons:

  • Requires dedicated team buffs to efficiently stack Coreflame.

  • Eidolons are expensive; casual players might prefer investing elsewhere .

🔍 TL;DR

  • Release: July 2, 2025 (Asia/EU); July 1 (NA)

  • Role: Physical Destruction hyper-carry DPS

  • Mechanic: Coreflame charges → transformation → 8-turn solo territory

  • Lore: Central hero of Amphoreus, carrying heavy prophecy and personal turmoil.
